GAMES: We had another great week of games. Andover White played Spartan Maroon tied Andover White 5-5 and Spartan Gold won 6-2. Spartan Chumash played really well but lost to Andover White. I was complimented on how well all of our teams passed and caught the ball. Both lacrosse teams did an excellent job of managing the ball for a majority of their games.
TOURNAMENT: As many of you saw, the Nebraska Lax Clash was cancelled due to lack of interest. They may try to put a tournament together for the fall.
ALL-STAR GAME IN DERBY: Andover Lacrosse approached me Saturday about putting together an All-Star Game in Derby sometime this early summer to advertise and grow lacrosse in that city. We are going to get together and will provide you with more information as it becomes available.
CLINICS: Spartan Lacrosse will be having a couple instructional/informational clinics this summer. Dates and times TBD. These will be excellent opportunities for you to invite your family, friends, classmates, and teammates to come and check out this awesome sport.
SUMMER LACROSSE:
I spoke with the Andover Coach about setting up a recreational lacrosse summer league in which we would spend about 30 minutes warming up / coaching and either play against each other or throw sticks in and dividing up the kids and he loved the idea. 8th Graders: If you are interested in playing in the summer High School league but have not committed, contact Coach Kyle Weis: kweis88@gmail.com.
SUMMER CAMPS: Camps are listed on the EVENTS page. 8th Graders interested in possibly playing lacrosse in college are encouraged to check out the DU Ascension Camp at the end of the month. NCAA DI and DII coaches will be present to observe potential recruits.
I will be going to DU Lacrosse Camp Session IV, July 27-30. Anyone interested in going with me and my boys is more than welcome to join us. Last year we had (9) players attend.
VOLUNTEERS: I want to thank Karen Letkowski, Ladonna Fortune, and Darrin Harding for working the table this past weekend. As usual, I'm always looking for volunteers. If you're going to be sitting there watching anyway, ...
